One or two days expeditions starting from Oaxaca
The state of Oaxaca has a lot to offer to climbers, with exciting rock walls of various difficulties providing fun to everybody, from amateurs at their first experiences to experts looking for new challenges.

All rock climbing excursions include two experienced guides, equipment, transport, food, and water.

Levels: E1 Easy, E2: Medium, E3: Difficult


SAN SEBASTIAN TUTLA - ONE DAY EXCURSION, LEVEL E1

San Sebastian is only 8 km from Oaxaca City. You will climb on volcanic rock (both traditional and sport climbing) with more than 40 different routes of various difficulties from 5.8 to 5.12. The excursion begins at 9 am and ends at 2pm. You will be walking for about 20 minute carrying light equipment (your backpack).


SANTIAGO APOALA - 2 DAYS TRIP, LEVEL E2

Santiago Apoala is 70 km from Oaxaca City (3½ hours by van)
Climbing in this beautiful location in the Mixteca region is ideal for practicing both traditional and sporting rock climbing, with routes that range in difficulty from 5.10 to 5.11. Other available options are trekking and a visit to the waterfalls and caves.

You will be leaving Oaxaca at 9 am for Nochixtlan, from there you will climb along a dirt road to the village of Santiago Apoala.
Dinner will be in the village, where you will be accommodated for the night at a campsite. The next day, after a large breakfast, you will begin the activities.
Climbing or a visit to the waterfalls are two of the available options, and the day will end with a light hike to the caves and viewing point.
Return to Oaxaca in the evening, estimated arrival at around 9 pm. During the trip you will have to walk for about 30 minutes carrying personal and collective equipment.


YAGUL - ONE DAY EXCURSION, LEVEL E2

Yagul is only 45 minutes from Oaxaca near the archaeological site.
This climb has 7 different routes that range in difficulty from 5.9 to 5.11. The excursion begins at 8.30 am and ends at 5 pm (including lunch time).
During the trip you will have to walk for about 30 minutes carrying personal and collective equipment.


SALINA BLANCA: LOS CANTILES - ONE DAY EXCURSION, LEVEL E3

Salina Blanca is less than 2 hours from Oaxaca, with climbing routes that range in difficulty from 5.10b to 5.12a.
You will leave Oaxaca at 9am and you will have enough time for lunch and to visit the petrified waterfalls. Return to Oaxaca in the evening, estimated arrival at around 7 pm. During the trip you will have to walk for about 45 minutes carrying personal equipment.
