Spanish classes, workshops and accommodation in Oaxaca.
The program has been designed by the ICC academic staff in order to fulfill the needs of the most demanding people; it is a package offering 5 hours of daily intensive Spanish instruction and cultural activities with maximum 5 students per class.

ONE WEEK INCLUDES:

- 5 hours tuition divided into 2 courses (for all Spanish levels from I to XII)
9am - 12 noon GRAMMAR IN ACTION: Combination of the tradional approach for teaching SSL and the acquisition of communicative competence, increasing the number of language learning activities. Learning through interaction puts the student at the center of the learning process
4:30 - 6:30pm CONVERSATIONAL IDIOMATIC SPANISH: Two hours of listening-conversation skills in order to expand vocabulary for communication, and to teach writing skills in a simple clear style. The course tries to reflect the great linguistic variety of the Hispanic world.

-Workshops on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
You can choose amongst the following options:
a) Mexican Cooking 1:00 pm - 4 pm
b) Indigenous weaving from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
c) Tropical dance 2:30pm - 4:00pm.

- 2 Lectures offered on Mondays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm on various Subjects:
'Traditional Celebrations', 'Indigenous Clothing and � Indigenous Herbal Medicine', 'The Mexican Educational System', 'Oaxacan Painters'�, 'The Woman's Role in the Actual Mexico'�
(Lectures and workshops are given by Oaxacan native professionals)

- 2 field trips on Friday and Saturday:
a)Tour to the Ocotlan Indigenous Market, outstanding artisans and the house of the famous painter Rodolfo Morales
b)Tour to archeological sites

- All learning materials (book, notebook, pencils & pens) and free email access

- Oaxaca Airport Pickup (as soon as you know your flight number or arrival date please send us the information).

OPTIONAL AT EXTRA COST: 7 days accommodation with a Oaxacan family, including all meals. You will have your own room with your own bathroom.

LEVELS and CREDIT
If you have already attended any Spanish language courses, you must take a placement test in order to determine your proper proficiency level, and you should arrive in Oaxaca prior to the Monday your course starts.
You should verify the requirements in order to be accredited from your university prior to attending.
ICC classes have been accepted for credit by many universities in the U.S. and Europe.

While learning spanish you can request to be placed as a volunteer in several different associations in Oaxaca, where you will be able to develop practical confidence and gain much more from your visit by helping others.
