7 days tour in the Copper Canyon from El Fuerte to Chihuahua, with some trekking and camping
This tour is really attractive to nature lovers, as it offers the opportunity of exploring two canyons in the Barranca del Cobre - Urique and Batopilas - hiking in the Sierra Tarahumara, and alternating some camping to the classic hotel accommodation.

You will also visit the village of Creel, some historical sites and learn about the ancient Raramuri culture, everything in the stunning natural surroundings of the Copper Canyon.

Itinerary:

Day 1: This tour starts in El Fuerte, where you will board the "Chepe" train the next morning, with destination Bahuichivo. The adventure starts on the train, from where you will appreciate a unique landscape. The "Chepe", has been operating in the zone of the Copper Canyon from 1961, with a railway infrastructure considered as a masterpiece of the Mexican engineering. This line counts with 653 kilometers of route, 37 spectacular bridges and 86 impressive tunnels.
From the small village of Bahuichivo you will be transferred to Cherocahui, where you will visit cuevas and historical sites. Accommodation at Cerocahui Wilderness Lodge.
Day 2: Private transfer to La Laja, where you will start a 10 km trek to the village of Los Alisos. You will cross the Ulrique river and walk through Encino's pine forests. The trek is technically very simple, as there is no big height difference. In Los Alisos, you will have time to explore the surrounding areas and Raramuri communities, before camping for the night.
Day 3:Trek to Terreros, where you will camp for the night.
Day 4: Trek to Batopilas, through a Sierra where you will get up to 2,300m altitude.
Accommodation in hotel Hacienda Ri­o Batopilas
Day 5: Private transfer to Creel, where you will visit a former Jesuit mission, Arareko Lake and some waterfalls in the surrounding areas. In the village you will find an exhibit of the Raramuri history and culture, and numerous artesanias shops displaying their hand crafts. Accommodation in hotel.
Day 6: You will board the train to Chihuahua, where you will spend the last night in the San Francisco hotel.
Day 7: Transfer to the airport and departure (if you are leaving Mexico or Chihuahua by air)
