    TODOS SANTOS HISTORICAL TOUR

On this guided tour you will visit many of the historical homes and buildings throughout town, learning fascinating stories of the global forces and colorful personalities that brought these buildings into existence and shaped Todos Santos over the years.

You will also visit the studios of working artists who make their homes in Todos Santos to gain their inspiration from this beautiful place.
The daily tour will end at the famous Hotel California, where you can just enjoy the magical atmosphere or stay for a drink or a meal.

The tour organizers donate a percentage of all fees to the local fire department

    LA CANDELARIA MOUNTAIN POTTERY ARTISANS

This trip is a fantastic opportunity to experience the traditional way of life of the mountain ranchers in Baja. You will meet local pottery artisans in a true mountain oasis, and learn how Baja Californians have carved their homes and livings out the mountains for centuries.

You will enjoy the simple but impressive architecture of the area and, of course, view the work and art of the potters. Getting there is half the adventure, driving through the huge, dry arroyos and the beautiful desert roads that will lead you up into the mountains.

You have 2 options for this tour:

Option 1: You will spend the day with Doņa Ramona and her family on their working ranch. While Doņa Ramona’s family set a delicious lunch, Ramona puts on a pottery class for the group, imparting not only her tricks for working with the local clay, but stories from her life in the mountains as well. Once you’ve created your own Baja pottery masterpiece, Doņa Ramona then takes the group into the kitchen to teach each person how to make tortillas in the traditional style. Lunch is typically several wonderful dishes, each made with fresh ranch ingredients.

After lunch you will tour Doņa Ramona’s ranch, including the ostrich pen. You will also see her kiln and the little chapel that she has on her property for the visiting priest that comes to the village twice a month. Time and interest permitting, you can wind up the trip by visiting some of Doņa Ramona’s potter neighbors before heading back to Todos Santos.

Option 2: you will visit 2 different villages of mountain potters, San Vicente and La Candelaria, and meet the potters and view their works. The ride through the mountains between the two villages is half the fun of this adventure!
