Villas Chimay   •   Yucatan Peninsula

Villas Chimay is located 1 km west of Holbox village and is one of the pioneers of alternative tourism in the island.
It is situated on the edge of a beautiful white sandy beach, in a tropical garden of 1 hectare filled with indigenous trees: coconut palms, chit palms, agaves, seagrapes, mangroves and bananas.

Villas Chimay features 7 cosy bungalows (palapas) and a restaurant with thached roof, built following the traditional local style. Mayan people used the natural resource of palm leafs to form the roof, giving protection from the heat.

The bungalows have their own terrace with a hammock, ecological bathroom with toilet and shower, and are all individually furnished.

In the cosy restaurant and bar with a beautiful seaview you can enjoy International and Mexican food and good drinks. The kitchen is also open during the day for small snacks.

Other facilities include a library, massage, beach chairs and towels, Kayak rental, and snorkelling equipment for kids.

The Eco Resort has its own Solar and Wind Energy System, collection and use of rain water and ecological Waste Water System.
Since this is an ecological resort, bungalows are not air conditioned, but fans are available. However, the construction of the Palapa bungalows are made in a way that the rooms are always well ventilated.

Villas Chimay is a place to relax, to refresh yourself in the blue sea, to experience unforgettable sunsets and to enjoy a nice drink. It is the perfect place for romance and relaxation.

Petra and Manfred look forward to welcoming you in a very friendly and personal atmospere which makes you feel at home - you come as a visitor and leave as a friend!
