La Selva Mariposa - the jungle butterfly - is an intimate B&B located in the middle of the Mayan jungle, only 15 minutes away from Tulum's beautiful beaches and its blue Caribbean waters.

The four suites are built with discretion and taste so that they remain hidden in the beautiful and lush surroundings, providing you with tranquillity and privacy.

Suite 1 is located in the west wing of the main house overlooking the gardens with Mayan-style waterfalls. The water sound is very relaxing, especially while you are in bed. You will also enjoy an open air shower built of fossilized coral stone excavated from the property. Choose this suite if you are not a big fan of thatched palapa roofs.

Suites 2 and 3 are located in the casita west of the main house under a grand palapa roof. Just off your porch you will find a cenote-style pool with cascading waterfalls, and from your deck you can see the pyramid style Temazcal (Mayan steam-bathroom) and the tropical gardens.
The casita is surrounded by a natural, ten-foot stone wall that provides you with extra privacy.
Suite 2 has a sitting area with its own overhead fan and light that can be converted into a single bed for a small person.
Suite 3 offers also an open shower (located inside the bathroom, but without the roof) and a soaring palapa roof.

Suite 4 is reminisent of a mayan ruin on the exterior, it has its own private deck, pool, and waterfall. It has been designed for a family of 4, or for 2 couples and features a king size plus 2 single-size beds/king. The 2 bedrooms are divided by a bathroom with shower and separate sink.

All rooms have been built with hardwood beams and the furniture has been designed and built by your host, Lou.
They are fully screened, and have overhead and floor fans, a stone sink with vanity area, reading lights over the bed, clock/CD player, a little a coffee bar, and a refrigerator stocked with beer, juices and plenty of drinking water.
You will have hot water 24 hours, towels, and toiletries including the famous barro (Mayan clay which leaves your skin incredibly smooth and soft).

If you love outdoor activities you will enjoy walking or jogging along the sandy paths that surround the property (the house dogs might join you), where you will see many interesting birds, butterflies and exotic plants.
If you are looking for something more structured, an open air gym is available in the main house.

Your hosts - Mari and Louis - will prepare and serve a custom breakfast either in the dining room or on your own front porch.
Other meals can be catered for upon request (the candle-light lobster dinner is very popular!)

The B&B offers also an extensive library, a Temazcal (Mayan steam bath), a large outdoor tub, massages and spa treatments (arrangements must be made ahead of time).
Telephone, cell phones, walky-talkies and Wireless Internet are available to the guests.
