Puerto Morelos is located on the Caribbean coast of the Yucatan peninsula, and is only 20 miles from Cancun and 15 miles from the International Airport. Directions by car: If you rent a car at the airport, drive two miles east to the intersection with the Cancun-Tulum expressway. At the intersection, you turn right (south) towards Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos. After driving about 15 miles on the expressway, you will enter a populated area, and you will see a traffic light and a big sign welcoming you to Puerto Morelos.

Turn left (east) at the light and onto a two lane road which passes through a lagoon before it reaches the town of Puerto Morelos after one and a half mile. The first buildings you pass are municipal offices and the police headquarters. Just before the Town Square (zocalo), turn left on Av. Javier Rojo Gomez and after around 50 yards you will see on your left the two-story Posada el Moro just in front of the restaurant "Dona Zenaida". Directions by bus: At Cancun international airport there is a frequent bus service to Playa del Carmen, which stops also in Puerto Morelos. Ask at the airport information and they will direct you to the right bus terminal. The bus fee to Puerto Morelos is around five dollars (50 pesos) per person and buses depart about every hour. The bus will take you to the Puerto Morelos bus stop on the Cancun-Tulum expressway, from where there are taxis that will take you directly into town and to Hotel el Moro for about one dollar (10-15 pesos)
