Posada El Moro is located in the town of Puerto Morelos, about 20 miles south of Cancun and 15 miles from the international airport.
Its name comes from a local crab with a distinctive purple (morado) coloured shell.

This lovely posada has a homey and laid-back atmosphere, and offers 8 rooms and 2 suites, all very spacious and clean.

They have private bathrooms with hot water 24 hours and are all equipped with ceiling fans, and refrigerator. Some of them have also air-conditioning, cable TV and a kitchenette.

There are also two Suites with two double beds, fan, AC, Cable TV and kitchenette, which make them particularly suitable for families with children.

The common areas are airy and comfortable; there is a breakfast room, a garden with chairs and hammocks, a small swimmingpool.
Amongst the other facilities, El Moro offers laundry service, free parking and Internet access.

The staff is very attentive, and the owner - la senora Guadalupe - is a friendly lady who runs the place with a special attention to the environment, using a water capture system that collects rain water and sends it in the posada's bathrooms.

Her daughter runs an interesting project in Nuevo Durango, 136 km south west of Puerto Morelos, promoting community based tourism in a small Mayan village.
