Chac-Chi is a ecological resort created to make low impact on the enviroment and focused on ecotourism and intimate surroundings.
It is the ideal destination for the traveller looking for a relaxing holiday by the sea, or for honeymooners.
Located on a beautiful beach of the Costa Maya, Chac-Chi offers a unique privacy that can not be found on the crowded beaches of Cancun, and gives you a truly alternative experience. Imagine being lulled at night by the sea waves and waking up by the sound of the birds...
You will be accommodated in one of the 12 rustic, seaside cabins - each with 2 double beds and private bathrooms with towels - located in the tropical jungle with direct access to the beach. All cabins are are constructed following the traditional Mayan style, of local hardwoods, with thatched palm roofs raised on stilts above the sandy beach, and a private deck to enjoy the spectacular sea view to the East and the tropical jungle to the West.
Chac-Chi has its own restaurant and bar with the most beautiful view of the area. The restaurant specializes in seafood, but also typical Mexican food will be prepared at your request.
Cold beer and tropical drinks available at Chac-Chi's bar all day long.
When you stay in Chac-Chi you will relax in a friendly atmosphere. Sand, sea and sun are the basic commodities. Enjoy yourself exploring the surrounding nature, snorkeling or diving at the reefs, walking on the beach, watching the stars at night, reading in the shade of the jungle trees.
The Chac-Chi manager will offer you personalized attention and try to make your stay pleasant and comfortable without abusing the environment.
For divers and underwater photographers, this is your dream-come-true place: you can explore the Chinchorro reef, a 29 miles long by 9 miles wide natural atoll with amazing coral, sea turtles, dolphins, and thousands of reef fish.
If the coral isn't enough of a lure, then go for the shipwrecks: the barrier reef has claimed more than 20 ships over the centuries just 15 to 30 foot depth.
Snorkelers will enjoy a great variety of coral and colourful fish just 10 meters away from Chac-Chi beach.
Sea Turtle Watching is another exciting activity between April and September, when the turtle females come ashore to lay their eggs on the beach.
For the archaeology lovers, less than an hour away from Chac-Chi a new ruin from around 700 AD has been recently restored. Its name is Chacchoben, a mayan word meaning 'the place of red corn'. Another place nearby is Dzibanche, a fairly old Mayan site from 200 BC.
