Posada Belen is located in a lovely colonial building in the Plazuela de Mexicanos, a small picturesque square just 5 minutes from the Church of Santo Domingo and the city's colourful central market.

The square features a small church, a central gazebo and a few benches, so that it looks like a small zocalo (town central square), where the locals meet for a chat, but it also very quiet, as there is no car access.

The posada has 11 rooms, all spotless and tidy, with super clean ensuite bathrooms with hot water, decorated with colourful Mexican tiles.

The double rooms feature one full size double bed plus a single bed, then there are a few 'double special' bedrooms, which are a bit larger and with king size bed, and a room called 'especial', as it is very spacious with a sitting area and full king size bed.

All rooms are located around a central patio, which has been covered with a glass roof, allowing plenty of sun and light in the corridors and along the stairs.

We found this posada by pure chance while walking to the market, and loved it at first sight. It is an incredibly good value for money, and the staff is helpful and friendly.
