Casa Mexicana is a gorgeous colonial complex located right in the centre of San Cristobal. This hotel is considered the town's top end accommodation by both locals and foreigners, thanks to its traditional charm and the comforts of the rooms.
It is divided into two different buildings on the opposite side of one of San Cristobal's cobblestone streets. Each casa has a patio with lush gardens, and all rooms face the inner courtyard, away from the noise of the street.
The restaurant Los Magueyes is spacious and comfortable, and the menu includes typical Mexican dishes. Guests can relax in the sky-lit tropical garden, and enjoy a few drinks at La Cucaracha bar. Other services available are a spa room with massage area and sauna, a conference room for 60 people, parking, and room service.
All rooms have Sat TV, and a couple of Junior Suites and the Master Suite feature a Jacuzzi Spa.
What we particularly like about Casa Mexicana is its art collection: the owners' goal was to create a space filled with folk and contemporary Mexican art, therefore they have been collecting beautiful pieces of handcraft and inviting local artists to create works which somehow represent the Mexican spirit. This remarkeble art collection is now displayed around the hotel.
