Hacienda Vista Hermosa   •   Mexico City and surroundings

Vista Hermosa is one of the oldest and most charming haciendas in Mexico and it is located in Tequesquitengo, only minutes away from the city of Cuernavaca.

It was founded in 1529 by Hernan Cortes, the legenday conqueror of Mexico who was honoured by the king of Spain Charles V with the title of Marques del Valle de Oaxaca. He was given the domain on an incredibly vast amount of land, and Hacienda de San Jose de Vista Hermosa became the centre of the region's cultural life and activities.

The hacienda was built in solid stone, with 6 feet thick walls to protect it from external attacks, which surround the residential main building, the stables, and the beautiful stone buildings which used to be the old sugar refineries. The stone arches have been restored mainaining the classical viceroy style.

Staying in this historical building is an extraordinary experience, and you can relax in its quiet surroundings enjoying the nature, walking around the big gardens amongst tall, old trees and by the lovely pond.

Amongst the many facilities, guests have at their disposal a romantic restaurant, a pub, a chapel (where weddings can be celebrated) a swimming pool, tennis courts and sport grounds (mini-golf, volleyball, squash...), riding stables, conference rooms, and rooms with billiard, ping-pong, and children playground.

The area offers excellent climate all year long, and you are only one hour driving from Mexico City.
