Colonial Puebla   •   Mexico City and surroundings

Hotel Colonial is located in the historical centre of Puebla, just one block away from the Zocalo (main square).

The building hosting the hotel has been on the city map since 1668, when it was constructed by the Jesuits together with the Espiritu Santo Church and its College (now the Universidad Autonoma de Puebla), located right across the street.

The Colonial has one of the oldest elevators of the country, in operation from 1890 (and undergoing regular and proper maintenance ;). Its 67 rooms have full size double beds or twin beds and en-suite bathroom with shower. A few bathrooms also have a tub.

Amongst other amenities, all rooms have electronic lock, cable TV, digital safe box and direct dial phone with voice mail. There is no air-conditioning in the rooms as the old wide walls provide a perfect and natural insulation, keeping the bedroom always pleasantly cool.

The hotel offers also a business centre with PCs available to guests and wireless Internet access for laptops, and 24 hours concierge services.

The Colonial is known locally for its excellent cuisine, and its restaurant is recommended in several travel guides, especially the famous Mole Poblano, available every day in the Menu. The restaurant is open from 7am to 10pm (9pm on Sundays) and breakfast, lunch and dinner are served a la carte.
