Chalet del Carmen   •   Mexico City and surroundings

Chalet del Carmen is located in Coyoacán, a beautiful district in the southern park of Mexico City, near the gardens of Xochimilco and the University City.

Your hosts - Manuel and Margrit - are a Mexican-Swiss couple (Manuel is actually from Coyoacan), who decided to open the door of their home to travelers from all over the world, offering their wonderful hospitality and personal attention in the full respect of their guests privacy.

The 6 rooms and suites are all airy and bright with natural wooden floors and spotless en-suite bathrooms, each one with its own characteristics which contribute to the charm and personality of the house.

Camelie is a suite with a king-size bed or two single beds (for 1 or 2 persons), living room with a sofa, garden view and main street view window, dining room with table and six chairs, and fully-equipped kitchenette (refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, blender, stove, oven, dishes, silverware, and glasses). The room honors the father of the chalet’s owner, who was an agriculture expert and lover of his garden, with a camelia tree still standing at its front.

The suite Catalina has a full bed for 1 or 2 persons, living room, dining room with table and 4 chairs and fully-equipped kitchenette. It is immersed in a beautiful, tranquil and calm back garden, the perfect place to relax and to concentrate. Its name comes from the nearby Church of Santa Catalina.

Carmen is a room with king size bed or two single beds, a crystal table and two armchairs, and a little dining table with two chairs. Carmen is both the name of the neighborhood and of the owner's mother.

The room Frida has a king size bed or two single beds, a closet, a desk with a chair, a chest of drawers and two night tables. It is dedicated to one of the most outstanding figures of the Mexican art and culture, who lived just three blocks away. The room has a great big window facing exactly the direction of her famous blue house, now a museum.

Margrit is a smaller room with a full double bed, a little table, and a dressing area. Named after the owner, it is located above the back garden and offers peace and tranquility.

Heidi is the smallest room but very cosy and airy, with a full double bed, a night table, and a desk with chair. Named after the owner's mother it has a 'mountain-chalet' atmosphere.

Amongst other facilities you will have a refrigerator/Mini bar, safety box, private phone line with a wireless internet access at no extra charge, and cable TV.

In the house you are welcome to help yourself with books and magazines, umbrellas and other things you might need. You will have also a special discount at the corner restaurant (just 35 meters away) for breakfast or dinner.

The Chalet does not count with private parking places; although there are safe parking areas for 2 or 3 cars.
