Mar de Jade is located on a half mile stretch of pristine beach - approximately 1 and a half hours north of Puerto Vallarta and 3 hours southwest of Guadalajara.
The latitude is on the Tropic of Cancer, exactly on the same line as Hawaii.
Located in a setting of great natural beauty and serenity, Mar de Jade has as its backdrop a lush tropical mountain forest alive with birds, iguanas, and tropical vegetation, and has nearby groves of coconut, mango and banana trees.
Overlooking the ocean, the main house with its graceful contours and style serves as a gathering place for a variety of events and happenings.
In the midst of a palm grove at the edge of the ocean is a full-sized swimming pool, a wading pool, and a large spa, ideal for star-gazing at night.
The whole-life-wellness center, 'Los Remedios' offers also a steam room, and treatment rooms with breathtaking views.
Large retreat/activity rooms and an outdoor terrace are the ideal space for yoga, aerobics, body-building or dancing.
All rooms in the guesthouse have private bathrooms with hot water, fans and views of the ocean or the lush jungle. They feature two full beds and are ideal for double or single occupancy.
Some rooms have lofts, and feature a king bed (or 2 single beds) on the bottom floor and a king bed/2 single beds (or 2 single beds) in the loft, accessible by a spiral staircase. These rooms are ideal for families with children or for 3 to 4 roommates.
For those seeking an atmosphere of elegant simplicity, there are 12 Suites that blend gently into the jungle background. They are made of cantera rock, clay tiles, hand painted mosaics and finished with tropical mahogany woods. All have sitting areas facing the garden and the ocean and feature a king bed; most have private terraces.
The Master Suites are more spacious with exquisite ocean views and terraces. They have two full beds and a futon or a king bed and a futon. Five have bathtubs and three have smaller bathrooms with showers only, but offer an extra smaller room with a futon for one or two children. They are ideal for families.
Meals are served three times a day, usually buffet style, on the outdoor dining room overlooking the ocean. An a la carte menu with gourmet seafood and vegetarian specialties is available upon request in the elegant indoor dining room.
The kitchen staff prepares authentic Mexican dishes from various regions (chiles rellenos, mole, enchiladas, smoked fish, salsas) as well as international favorites.
In the daily preparations they use fresh fish, chicken, dairy products, abundant vegetables and salads, and the best of the tropical fruits: papaya, pineapples, and mangoes. Vegetarian options are always available.
Raw foods are carefully washed with purified water. Purified water is also provided for drinking. Great attention is given to food preparation for the health and safety of all.
You can simply enjoy a vacation of relax in this beautiful natural environment enjoying the beach, the sun and the spa, or take part to the many tours and activities organized on the spot.
At Mar de Jade you can also learn Spanish, or practice yoga, or even participate to a volunteering program: a percentage of Mar de Jade's income and staff time is dedicated to supporting projects they have founded themselves: a primary-care community clinic, a legal-aid project, a scholarship fund for young people, and an emergency fund for families in distress.
