Events
Every day parties and fiestas are held somewhere in Mexico, honouring a saint, remembering a historical event, celebrating nature, life and death with music, dances, and rites which are the reflection of a vast cultural heritage.
The Mexican zest, joy, and folklore are an expression of the amazing fusion between the Indigenous and the Spanish culture: images of the celebrations of Mesoamerica’s inhabitants are still found in the Catholic festivities introduced by the Spaniards, and there is also a bit of African influence.
Whenever you are planning to travel to Mexico, we suggest you check what is on in that period and where, in order not to miss the opportunity of experiencing the force of tradition, enjoying the colours, noises and choreographies of the various fiestas, and the Mexican friendliness and hospitality.
In this section you can find a list of the main national holidays
and a selection of the most important local festivals, divided by
month.
